IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This role is based on a remote Island off the East Coast of the Northern Territory Top End region.

The Anindilyakwa Healing Centre Support Worker is responsible for the high-quality support and delivery of care to residents undertaking the residential program at the Healing Centre, 30 minutes’ drive from Umbakumba, NT.

DASA is seeking to recruit several Support Workers, with Full Time positions available. Support Workers are required to work on a rotational roster, which involves 12-hour shifts including day, afternoon, night and weekend shifts.

The Anindilyakwa Healing Centre delivers targeted, tailored rehabilitation programs to Adult Aboriginal Men who are at risk of offending, or reoffending, who have been diverted on referral by the courts, police or by others, mandated or self-referred. This program is a 32-bed rehabilitation facility designed as an alternative to incarceration for men, providing programs to help them with their substance use and underlying issues and provide trauma-informed practice support for them to rehabilitate. This six-month program aims to help these men gain the tools needed to prevent recidivism and encourage their productive participation in their communities. You will see the impacts and effects this program has on participants and the community.

The Anindilyakwa community is very involved in their own justice system, and this project will work closely with local community members, as well as the Anindilyakwa Community Justice Group, to ensure all programs are culturally informed and appropriate.
