How can we help you?
Our services include:
Sobering Up Shelter: a facility providing a comfortable bed, a shower, washing of clothes and breakfast for people who need a safe place to sleep off intoxication. Counselling and referral to DASA’s other services is available and encouraged.
Aboriginal Outreach: intervention and referral to encourage people in the community to have professional interventions to break the cycle of addiction and harm. Our Outreach team link a vast range of clients with DASA’s programs and other appropriate services in Alice Springs.
Back On Track Drink Driver Education Program and customised alcohol and other drug programs for delivery in any setting under fee for service arrangements.
Methamphetamine Outreach: support, referral and case management to help people to reduce the impact of methamphetamine on their lives, and to recover from their addiction. Outreach support in the community as well as the option of intensive support through residential rehabilitation at Aranda House, if the person feels this is necessary.
commit2change: Case management, harm minimisation sessions and ongoing support for COMMIT Court bail and parole clients who are heavy alcohol or drug users. Caters for high-needs offenders who are assessed as suitable for community sentencing but need addiction focused support to remain in the community.
Aranda House A Therapeutic Community, where self-help and mutual support are encouraged to promote personal change. Offers non-medical detox leading into a longer-term 20 bed residential program, with group sessions that are also available to outpatients. Accepts voluntary and mandatory clients for alcohol or drug misuse including volatile substances.
Transitional After Care A further stage of residential rehabilitation for suitable and willing clients. Clients can live for up to one year in eight single units in demountables within the Aranda House facility. A dedicated case manager supports them to return to paid or volunteer work, to study or to care for their infant children. Clients continue to access peer support and activities in the Therapeutic Community when not at work or studying.
Independent Living Program Supported transitional accommodation in the community, where clients and their children reside as tenants in 1 of 3 units. Clients in this program are responsible for paying rent and their power bills, and for taking care of the premises – to practise for re-entry to private or government housing.
