How can we help you?
Goldbridge Rehabilitation Services was established in 1987 and has built a reputation of delivering a Therapeutic Community (TC) Program that achieves real and sustainable recovery from drug and/or alcohol dependency.
Goldbridge is a not-for-profit, non-religious Therapeutic Community which has a 28-bed residential rehabilitation service. Treatment is evidence-based utilising Best Practise Principles focused on promoting positive personal change, enhanced psychological wellbeing and social functioning. Goldbridge uses the TC approach towards treatment and recovery, which promotes personal change through self-help and mutual support. Both residents and staff participate in the management and operation of the community through Group Therapy, Experiential Learning and Psychosocial Education Groups. Goldbridge is a member of the Australasian Therapeutic Communities Association (ATCA).
- Safety Net:
This phase is four weeks in length and begins when a client enters the residential TC. Residents are orientated to the TC, undertake an initial treatment plan and participate in education modules which include harm minimisation and recovery maintenance strategies. At the end of the 4 weeks a review is undertaken separately by both the client and Goldbridge as to the suitability of further program options to ensure treatment matching.
- Mainstream:
This phase is 12 weeks duration (nominally). Residents review their treatment plan with their Case Worker, undertake group therapy, education sessions and increase are given increased responsibility.
- Inter-phase:
This phase is the last 8 weeks of the six-month residential program. This phase includes flexible treatment pathways tailored to meet the complexity of needs of the target group. This is a “between” phase – the link between the residential treatment program at the TC and the Transition-to-Community phase or independent living.
In addition, Goldbridge has an optional Transition-to-Community program. This is a 6-month nominal semi structured and case managed program for graduates of the TC residential program. The program assists clients to progressively reintegrate into the broader community.
Goldbridge also offers a Continuing Care program to clients who have completed at least the initial stages of the TC residential program in the past. This program supports clients who have returned to independent living to stay safe and recognise when they need extra support to maintain a recovery lifestyle.
