We have two residential programmes: Odyssey House programmes and services are based around a therapeutic community model designed to assist people with significant Alcohol and Drug issues. The programme is highly structured and directed towards the residents/participants returning to a constructive role in society. As residents move through the various stages of the programme they learn new ways of coping positively within the community.

Adult residential programme – Ages males 17 +. An Alcohol and Drug agency referral is required. The programme includes group based work, individual work, and post treatment follow-up.

Youth Residential programme and A Youth Day Programme – Age 14-18 years male and female youth. An Alcohol and Drug agency referral is required. The programme includes schooling, group based work, individual work and post treatment follow-up.

Other Odyssey house services: Outreach Service: Provides follow up and pre-program work with people who have been through Odyssey.

Driving Change – a 10 week program focus on helping people who have 3 or more drink driving convictions. Agency or self-referrals.

Alcohol and Drug Assessment service: A service that provides alcohol and drug assessment, and treatment – in the community and in the prison system. Referral can be agency or self-referrals.

Community youth mental health and Alcohol & Drug service – A service that provides a brief intervention (up to 6 sessions) and linkage to other services for youth with Mental Health and/or Alcohol and Drug concerns – referral can be self or agency.

Older person Alcohol and Other drug service (65alive)
Community based AOD treatment in the Christchurch are and support for other older persons service with managing AOD issues.

Christchurch Central Service – AOD coordination
Centre point of access to all Canterbury AOD services. Includes screening, assessment, group, peer support and brief intervention.

Meth help
A primary phone based counselling service in the community to support people with Methamphetamine issue and support family effected by a family member use.

Free – funded by the CDHB, Corrections and MSD.
