Do you want to be part of WHOS exciting First Nations cultural activities and initiatives for our
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients?

We are looking for an enthusiastic, and motivated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person to
join our team at our Lilyfield campus.

This position is required to ensure that culturally appropriate activities and initiatives for our
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients are implemented, maintained, and monitored.
The incumbent will have strong communication skills to explore opportunities for mutually
beneficial collaboration between WHOS and local Aboriginal communities and community organisations.

First Nations culture is at the forefront of this position, as is ensuring a culturally safe
environment is maintained.  Criteria:
• Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
• Preferred Certificate III in a community service-related course (e.g., Aboriginal Health, AOD,
Mental Health, Community Services) or working towards a qualification.
• Knowledge and understanding of the impact of AOD on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health
and wellbeing.
• Ability to develop and deliver culturally appropriate supports, programs and resources in
response to client and service need.
• Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and consult with others and interact sensitively
and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
• Computer literacy and ability to learn and use relevant programs, including those for
client’s records and data reporting.

This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identified position (an applicant’s race is a

Remuneration negotiable based on experience and qualifications and according to award conditions.
