The Woolshed is a residential therapeutic community for adults aged from 18 years with drug or alcohol related problems. The Woolshed offers a structured program to develop living, work and interpersonal skills through education, counselling, group work and recreational activities. It has associated halfway houses in Adelaide and links with self-help groups. The philosophy and operation of the therapeutic community are aligned with the Australasian Therapeutic Community Essential Elements
The program takes 4 to 6 months; however a shorter program may be negotiated for those assessed as having commitments/needs which make the full program unsuitable.
The Woolshed accepts clients committed to living without illicit drug use. This can include those not receiving medication and those clients on medication assisted treatment for opiate dependence (MAT-OD). For more information about the Woolshed read the services brochure

How can we help you?
The Woolshed provides a structured, supportive and safe environment to address the underlying issues related to drug and alcohol dependence. In addition to the residential TC program, the Woolshed also has a residential transitional program for graduates of the Woolshed and an outpatient program for clients on the wait list.
Who can we help?
The Woolshed can assist adults from age 18 years and over with drug and/or alcohol dependence, who have engaged in previous treatment for substance use.

The Woolshed is located in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia in a country setting on 28 hectares.
Working with partners
The Woolshed is a unit of Drug and Alcohol Services South Australia (DASSA), so has close links to other DASSA services, including outpatient counselling, MATOD management, addiction specialist treatment and withdrawal services. The Woolshed has partnerships with peer support groups including AA and NA fellowships to provide opportunities for residents to attend meetings and build external support networks.
